Program Objectives

Train welders to work with semi-automatic mild steel welding machines. The welding techniques covered in this study program are GMAW and FCAW. At the end of this training, the person will able to work in different industries specializing in welding.

Admission Requirments

A person who meets the following conditions is eligible for this program:

· Have successfully completed Secondary III (mathematics, French and second language),

Or have obtained an attestation of equivalence of level of education (AENS);

Or have passed the General Development test (TDG) without special prerequisites.

· Have interrupted their full time studies for lease 12 months,

Or be 18 years old when entering the training program;

Or have obtained a secondary school diploma (DES) or a vocational studies diploma (DEP) or their equivalent;

· Are in a career reorientation; meet the eligibility standards of Emploi- Quebec’s workforce training measure;

Certification

A Skills Training Certificate (STC) recognizes the completion of one of the training programs currently offered by school boards in Quebec.

An STC program allows students to acquire the best skills in order to enter a profession in areas as diverse as cooking, general administration, arts, construction, health care, and more.
